Crippled Symmetries – Yiu-Hsiu Museum of Art

A two-day special performance transforms the museum into a vast, walk-through stage, while installations and video works can be experienced over two weeks, from 1 to 13 September.

Across the international Crippled Symmetries project, each edition responds to its own cultural and local context. In Peru, Indigenous traditions have provided a starting point for exploring ritual, memory and sound; in Korea, shamanic practices have informed new approaches to ceremony and cycles. In Taiwan, the focus shifts to the particular relationship between the museum, its architecture and the surrounding mountain environment.
The Taiwan edition brings together sound, video, live performance and installation, inviting audiences to move through the museum and experience its spaces, sounds and surroundings from new perspectives.
